Incident Description: Freedom chemical spill Crude MCHM Today, the hot water still smells of the chemical, but the odor isn't noticeable in the cold water in my home. However, I tried an experiment - I put cold water in a pan on the stove and heated it up. Sure enough, just before it reached the boiling point, I could smell it. The chemical is still present in the cold water even if you can't smell it.
