CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A state official says he “can guarantee” some West Virginians are breathing in a carcinogen while showering after the chemical spill.
On January 15th, the West Virginia Gazette published CDC director Thomas Frieden’s letter to the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Services concerning the drinkability of water contaminated by the January 9th chemical spill. In the letter, Frieden advises that pregnant women seek an alternative water source until contamination levels are undetectable.
