Incident Description: A mud slide has occurred below a sediment pond on a Cambrian Coal mine. The slide was first reported in January to AWW and the Kentucky DMRE. Since that time, the slide has not been repaired and the creek continues to run brown at times. Cambrian has been cited for multiple water-related violations at this mine and has received fines from $500 to $5,000 between 2005 and 2014. The company has received roughly 35 notices of noncompliance.
